Levels
Both knobs ride the master tap: Instrument sets the keys bus (what the instrument plays), Master is the final out. Drag or twist the rim · wheel steps · arrow keys when focused · double-click resets.
Synth
Play it from the piano dock below or your MIDI keys.
FM
The FM engine lands here — six operators, eight algorithms and DX-style envelopes. Set the ENGINE select to fm and program the grid.
Drums
Kit pads land here — set the ENGINE select to DRUM and play the pads, the dock, or MIDI (notes below the split go to the kit).
Samples
The sample core lands here — import WAVs, see the waveform, preview through the master tap.
Chop
The chop card lands here — detect transients, trim, fade and normalise the slices, map them to 16 pads and push the kit into the sampler.
Wavetable Editor
The wavetable editor lands here — draw or import a table, morph frames with spectral tools, and send it into the OSC2 wavetable oscillator. Your tables stay on this machine.
Tuning Studio
The tuning studio lands here — Scala .scl/.kbm scales, per-part tuning, MTS live receive and the equal/tuned morph. Your scales stay on this machine.
FX Rack
The rack lands here — seven modules inside the mixer worklet: drive → flavour → mod → delay → verb → conv → dyn. All off = bit-identical bypass.
Mod Matrix
The matrix lands here — 8 macro knobs and up to 32 routing slots (env / LFO / velocity / key / rand → cutoff, reso, pitch, osc levels, pan).
LFO
The LFO lands here — shape, rate and the cutoff / pitch depths, with a live waveform scope.
Sequencer
The step sequencer lands here — 4 tracks, swing, probability, p-locks, chains and scenes, driving the synth through the one note bus.
Recorder
Record the master output and grab a WAV.
Studio
The studio record core lands here — mic/line input riding the engine's own context, a count-in metronome, and lap takes that split at sequencer cycle boundaries. Nothing is uploaded.
Sessions
The sessions card lands here — versioned snapshots of the working state, autosave with crash recovery, and a one-press backup zip. Everything stays local.
Takes & Comping
The comp card lands here — take lanes from the studio's takes, pick-best comping with trims and equal-power crossfades, and a one-press WAV export. Nothing is uploaded.
Mix & Master
The mix desk lands here — per-track gain, pan, sends, ducking and insert FX; a verb + delay send pair; bus glue; and a master chain with LUFS / true-peak normalize targets and export dither. Render the mixdown offline, A/B it against a reference, and export the WAV. Nothing is uploaded.
Deck
The deck lands here — a live oscilloscope, spectrum and spectrogram waterfall off the master tap, LUFS / true-peak meters, engine voice + CPU readouts and a note ticker. Display only — nothing is uploaded.
Deliver
The Deliver card lands here — one press renders the pattern offline (stems · master · MIDI · README) into a DAW-ready zip. Nothing plays live, nothing is uploaded.
Store
The pack store lands here — factory packs download once, verify sha-256 before they are stored, and stay available offline.
Import & Library
The import hub lands here — drop files or folders anywhere and Anvil recognises WAV, MP3, AIFF, MIDI, REX2 and the pack formats, with honest notes for everything else. Imports stay in your local library.
CODE — write your own modules
The CODE card lands here — write a sandboxed DSP module (an FX or a whole voice engine), run it live in the audio engine, and keep it in your own local library. Everything stays on this machine.
MIDI
The hardware deck lands here — enable Web MIDI and your keys play Anvil through the same note path as the piano dock.
Project & Share
The project & share card lands here — save and open .anvl projects straight to disk (File System Access, with a download fallback), import samples from your drive, build a shareable patch card (PNG + offline QR link), and render a video clip of the deck with the mix printed in. Nothing is uploaded.
FAMILY — the MODDYS suite bridges
The suite bridges land here — bounce a loop into the Music Hub inbox, import Resonance session packs, and jump to World Radio & Podcasts. Everything local; nothing is uploaded.
